The Stork of Ideas (also known as The Muse or Plot Bunnies) has escaped and is now roaming free, dropping ideas in my head at a rate that I just can’t keep up with.

The Good News:

  • Lots of ideas are better than no ideas.
  • I should never have an excuse not to write.
  • I get more worlds to play in.

The Bad News:

  • I don’t know which story to work on.
  • I want to work on them all. At the same time.
  • It gives me too many worlds to play in.
  • I switch back and forth too much, thus never finishing any.

Dear Stork of Ideas,

I have enough ideas and I really don’t need more. I appreciate the idea, really, I do. I even wrote it down when you wouldn’t let me forget the last one. But, for now, until I finish at least 1 or 2 projects, please, keep them to yourself. Unless they’re really, really good. If that’s the case, you can nag me. But only if they’re really, really good.

Yours truly,
Maya

As you can see, I have a love/hate relationship going with my muse. Right now, we’re somewhere in between the two. She’s given me like, 4 ideas this month, 2 of which I’ve started, 2 of which are in an idea folder impatiently waiting their turns. What about y’all? How’s your relationship with your muse? Is she/he good, bad? Do they deserve rewards or punishments?
